Hi it is May 31st and the last day of the month of May. This month flew by so fast my head is spinning. I cant believe I have been down living in the sundhine for 10 months now. It has been wonderful. We baught a new car yesterday. A white 08 Nissan Versa Hatchback. Carl needed a car so we decided to get him one. The only thing I told him was it has to have a hatchback. It is after 3am and I again cant sleep. I guess I am thinking about things again.  Well it is back to bed so I can go to work at 11. Carla  Talk on........

Good morning, Carla and my OFF sistahs and brothers.  I can't believe it is the end of May either. I am not sure where this month or even this year has gone. It seems to be flying by so fast that I am missing most of it. I remember hearing my mom and grandma saying that time just flies by and as a kid thought to myself that it didn't and couldn't understand why they thought so. HaHa! I now know just what they where talking about. Oh, how things change as we get older! Bill has to go to the dentist this afternoon at 1:30. He is going to a new one right here in Portage. I asked a lot of people and they went to him and liked him. So Bill said that he thought that he would give him a try. I think he is going to have a tooth pulled. It has been giving him a lot of problems. So....I guess I am going to have to go with him. Ick!!! So far today it is overcast with not a bit of sun. It is only 20 minutes after 5 so I am hoping that things change in a little while. I am wanting the sun to come out. We got a lot of rain last night but not the bad storms that they were thinking we would get so we were saved again. Personally I don't mind storms and they are relaxing to me but they were saying that there was potential for possible tornados last night and I don't like that. Nothing much is going on this week end which is a nice change from the hectic one of last week. I would rather have a nice quiet one.  I start working at the church office on Monday from 8 to noon and then the week after that Bill starts a one week vacation. That week is going to be the week that I will more than likely come on here and want to shoot either him or I in the head to get me out of my misery!!! God help me please! I love him dearly and I miss him terribly when he goes back to work but when he is home for so long he drives me crazy. I am going to be a mess when he retires which isn't going to be for a long time. Maybe that is a good thing? It could be the saving grace that I need not to commit murder! I better get going. I am sending love and hugs to you this fine last day of May. I am remembering you all in prayers and special ones are being said for those in need. Have a wonderful day and remember to enjoy the moment.

What an evening I had. Mary called and asked me to come help with 2 sick kids. Matthew had shots the day before and was running the typical low grade fever.  Melanie was SICK!!! Her temp was 105.8 degrees. Holy ****!! I would have had her at the ER with that reading. She was drinking well and still urinating so my daughter didn't think it was necessary. Mary did talk to Dave, who is a doctor and was at work. He thought she would be fine too. Tylenol brought down the fever but I think the parents are CRAZY!!! Both parents are in the health care profession and think I am too quick to run to the doctor and ask for antibiotics. In MY opinion they let things go too long.  Dave was almost home when I left and I know he will give Melanie a good exam. Neither parent would sleep much, they are good parents and watch over the tots very well. We have different opinions about when to call the peditrician. I need to remember Dave is an ER doctor and used to seeing sick children. He is a good doctor but this is my MELANIE, not some stranger's child. I told Mary to call in the night if they needed me for anything. The phone was silent which I need to think is a good sign. As soon as it is 9 AM, I will call them to get an update. Don't want to wake them if they are sleeping. Kids get sick, grandma's worry. Chances are good that by this morning Melanie has bounced back and is full of her usual energy. That's the way it goes.  I'll keep you posted. Annette

Hi all, I have been lurking for a few days. Up at 4am again and very tired. Going back to bed after I post this. Picked dtr and friend up at college last night, they are both starting their camp counseling job today so we will drive them out there this afternoon. Beth has been a camper and then a junior counselor there ( I was a camper there also over 40 years ago!) and so she has been waiting to be a "real" counselor for a long time. She is still not finished with school but her profs have OK'd she miss some classes and just be there for the finals. Hope she can study while at camp. Hectic couple of weeks till school is over and we will be spending tons on gas! Went to my 6 months check up at 7 months this Tuesday. Am at 87% or 89% at my goal. Now I am really yo yo-ing back and forth 2-3 pounds and have been for several weeks not 2 but SEVERAL! I know I have to get stricter with myself, but am having a hard time... He told me I was a "champion" and was doing great and everything right. But I know that I'm not doing EVERYTHING right...blah...feeling like I am not going to get there and just go back...just head work needed now. I have never gotten to a goal weight wise and so.... All is well. Just have to buckle down again... I think not getting enough sleep is not helping and the pain issue is a pain too! A wicked circle. I need to see my pcp but I hate going in for these issues again, and again. So, again, everything is just "FINE" Our weather is beautiful and I am loving the back porch. Have a lovely day all... Cheryl

I was a nice break.  I need to get outside an mow beofre more rain and heat comes. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Actually, it's my Friday. I've got a full schedule of inmates to the library, so it will be a busy day. And we're going into the last week of school. I can't believe my little Genesy is finishing the first grade. Seems like just yesterday she was in preschool. And my little granddaughter, Ashley, will be starting kindergarten in the Fall. Time does fly!!!!

Don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow . . . maybe a trip to Reno, to Costco. We're getting very low on toilet paper. I also have $20 "cash" from Kohls that I need to spend.

Anyway, just popping in to wish everyone a happy weekend!
Joyful hugs,
Connie

HI Carla and Everyone! Congratulations on the new car, Carla....  It's always nice to have new.  Sounds like you and alot of people are having Spring Sleep Syndrome.  I sure hope it doesn't last too long.  Not good to be tired. Annette - I sure hope Melanie bounces back soon.  Kids tend to do that.  It's great her dad is a doctor.  My brother is an ER physician so I understand how nice it is to have that in the house when children are sick.   Cheryl - Feel better soon.  Not good to have pain. Today is my daughter's birthday!  Talked to her yesterday and she said, "This getting old thing sucks!"  LOL  Ya think?    She's 37 today.  But she's a trooper.  She's as anxious as I am for her to be coming next week for a full week.   We were busy at work with Miss America coming to visit our veterans.  She's absolutely adorable -- 19, blonde and a smile that melted everyone's heart.  She spent alot of time in our Spinal Cord Injury Unit and the patients were really excited to see her there.  They ran out of pictures or I would have gotten one for my 13-year old grandson.  LOL   Going to meet Jan S. today for a long Saturday walk!  I'm excited to see her again and hear all about her new job.  We always have a nice time when we get together and that really makes walking pleasant. Have a great weekend everyone! Kathi

Kathi and Jan, Walk a mile for me along that beautiful pathway. I 've got my happy dancin shoes on.   Bright and early Monday morning  I'll be flying north to spend 4days with our youngest grand, Yahoo.   Granny has been missing her girl.   Kathi, I can read Jan's Angel post while I'm gone, just haven't figured out how to post an answer, So, I'll check in with you Sat. Can't wait to see you on your  cumfy blue pillow, right next to all your Sister's and the boy's. Glad to here your girl will be with you for a time.  Sometimes this surgery can slow you down a whole bunch. You just never know till after a few days.  Sending you my very best hugs. Keep your joy growing, And your eye on the prize, Peg

Good Morning Carla and everyone........... Not much happening here today either. The sun is shining this morning....wooohoooooo!!! It looks like it will be a beautiful day.  I am going to run to a couple garage sales just to get out of the house. Hope to sit outside with a book and soak up some sun later. Nothing much planned for the rest of the day. I will be going to the car races Sunday evening as they have started up again for the summer.  Nic's counts were up alittle yesterday and that is good. No where near high enough to feel better. He is hoping to get out and ride his bike today. That is a good sign. Hope everyone has a great day. Prayers to all, especially those in need.  Love and hugs to all.....connie d
